Happy Freedom Day | Upcoming Things to Do on the Teesside Princess

It has been a while folks.

486 days, 11,664 hours or 699,840 minutes to be exact. But we made it. We are still here despite everything that has been thrown at us in the last 16 months.

With Freedom Day arriving, we thought we would share some happy news – you can now book on to one of our scheduled cruises starting soon.

We are still practising social distancing therefore there’s limited sailings with limited tickets.

Confirmed daytime cruises are as followed:

• 30th July at 12pm for Afternoon Tea

• 31st July at 2pm for Afternoon Tea

• 14th Aug at 12pm for Afternoon Tea

• 18th Aug at 12pm for Afternoon Tea

Single and return journeys are available for each cruise listed above.

If you are interested in a date that isn’t listed, please contact the office and we may open it up depending.

Our iconic 80’s Night is coming back for August Bank Holiday Weekend, sailing at 8pm on 28th Aug. This is also available to book via the office.

We also have a first for you, something that was teased a few weeks ago. We have partnered up with Katie Bee’s & Co to bring you an autumn wreath workshop cruise. This will be on 2nd October sailing at 3pm, more details will be announced very shortly. (Hint: email subscribers will be the first to know).

Booking

All cruises can be booked via our booking office (website will follow shortly), so please give us a ring on 01642 608038 or email at teessideprincess@btinternet.com. Our staff are still flexi-furloughed so the office isn’t open as much as it used to be, but if you leave a voicemail, send an email or a message we will always get back to you.

COVID-19 Restrictions

In terms of restriction easing, we have decided the following:

• As mentioned previously, we are still practising social distancing. Therefore there is a limited number of passengers for public cruises.

• We request customers to wear masks when moving around the vessel due to some areas being narrow.

• Sanitation points will be still appointed around the vessel.

• Staff will be still wearing PPE where necessary.

• Wait on service will still be in place, avoiding potential queuing for the bar.

Just one last thing. I am aware that it’s 25c outside today, but we have already had enquiries about Santa Cruises. For those organised people, we will release more information and dates about the popular event next month.

All at the Princess have been working awfully hard to get to this point, and we are so proud to say we are still here. We cannot wait to see everyone again and start getting back to normality.

Until then, please stay safe, be kind and love where you live.

The New Normal

The New Normal

Wow, can you believe it is approaching Autumn already? The leaves are turning, there’s a chill in the air and there’s Christmas decorations at the Range!

What we cannot believe is that we missed our whole Summer with our lovely passengers. We were so looking forward to welcoming you on board, but, like everyone else, it had to be done. Instead we all worked on our garden & DIY skills, binged on Netflix, and baked…a lot!

We are looking at coming back soon, with safety precautions being put in place as we speak.

The following will give you an idea of what’s to come for the rest of 2020.

Mother’s Day

As the country closed on Mother’s Day weekend, we were forced to celebrate Mother’s Day behind closed doors. We know that a lot of Mums, Mams and Mothers were looking forward to being taken out and spoilt, therefore we have decided to organise Mother’s Day in Autumn to make up for the loss. Sailing on the 18th October at 12pm tuck into a traditional Sunday Lunch cruising down the River Tees and make up for lost time.

Father’s Day

We cannot celebrate the maternal figures in our life and NOT our fathers. Therefore, one month later we have Father’s Day in Fall.

Sailing on the 15th November at 12pm, enjoy a classic Sunday Lunch on our 3 hour cruise, sailing past Preston Park and Yarm.

NHS & Key Workers Discount

Everyone in this country has said thank you to our key workers in some way, getting us through the worst of the wave putting their safety first for those in need. You might have clapped on a Thursday, let them pass in the queue or drawn rainbows in your windows.

We want to say thank you to all key workers by introducing a 10% discount on ALL cruises.

For the NHS, whom we love so dearly. You might remember a few years back when we put on a cruise for £5pp. We want to do that again for you, dates are yet to be determined but if your department have an idea of when you’d like to use this offer give us a ring and I’m sure we can arrange something.

Halloween

To keep our families safe, we have decided not to go ahead with our annual Little Monsters Ball. We are sorry for an disappointment. However, we are looking at having a Trick-or-Treat Afternoon Tea where your little ones can still get dressed up and have fun, whilst being secure. Also adult friendly!

The cruise will take place on 31st October, and all final details will be released shortly.

Winter Warmers

To introduce you back on to our boat, we are offering a winter warming package.

This will include a 3 hour sailing, commentary, a hot drink and a warm jacket potato with your choice of topping. All for £13.50pp.

This will be available throughout to book throughout our Winter season.

I know you don’t want to think about this yet, not until October Half Term is done, however we want to be as transparent as possible so you feel safe with your loved ones this Christmas.

Santa Cruises

We have decided to cut our passenger numbers from 60 to 30 to ensure all social distancing measures are being adhered too, and the childrens can still enjoy themselves. However the timings of the Santa Cruises have changed slightly to make way from a later cruise with Santa.

The time slots are: 10am, 12:30pm, 3pm & 5.30pm.

Due to Covid-19 laws, some of the games have been altered but are still just as fun. There will be an activity bag for each child as well as the usual sweet treats and drinks for the adults too. We are working with Santa and his elves to figure out the best possible way for the kids to meet Santa and receive their gift.

Adults: £11.95pp

Child: £15.95pp

Under 2’s: £10

Nurseries and Playgroups: £10pp

Due to uncertainty we will be taking booking without a deposit at this time. However, if there is no payment made 6 weeks before your scheduled cruise we will cancel your booking.

Christmas Eve and the 20th Dec are now available to book online. The others will follow shortly!

Christmas Parties

We are not booking public Christmas Parties until we know we can provide a safe yet fun environment.

Only private parties are available to book, with a minimum of 20 passengers. Food is available to purchase.

*As of 14/09/2020 we cannot book private parties of more than 6, we are hoping this will change closer to the time*

Christmas Fayres

We will be continuing as normal with our Christmas Fayres, with the addition of social distancing and table service.

These are available through the weekdays leading up to Christmas.

The package includes a 3 hour sailing down the River Tees and a 2 course Christmas Lunch or Festive Afternoon Tees.

We are interested in adding a few new festive cruises, such as Christmas Crafts, Afternoon Tea with Santa, Festive Cocktail Cruise and Bedtime with Santa. Let us know in the comments which ones you want to see on our calendar.

…and that’s a wrap. We are itching to get back on the River Tees and we can’t wait to see you soon, but until then please stay safe and love where you live.
